I Own This Town

One conman, one move, and a town that never asked for paperwork.

The lore

Jack Feebs has one move and he has never needed a second one. He walks into a business, says he owns it, and behaves as though the matter was settled before he arrived. Staff get instructions. Changes get announced. Nobody asks for paperwork in the first ninety seconds, and ninety seconds is all he needs.

This arc follows that move from a single storefront up to a hotel, and then follows it off a cliff. Paleto Bay is where it starts, because Paleto is small enough that confidence carries and far enough from Los Santos that nobody checks.

What to know going in

Jack is not a charming rogue with a code. He is reliable to nobody, including the men he hires. He looks like the generic businessman the game hands out by default, plain gray suit, nothing memorable, which is exactly the right build for a man who needs a stranger to believe him for a minute and a half.

Search him at any point in this story and the result is the same: an ID and pocket lint. His assets are tied up. His accountant is handling it. His people are bringing the paperwork. The paperwork never comes.

Where it ends up

The Hotel Socilia job is the one that ends the run. Jack hires two men, Crumpet and Casserole, to take the owner out of the picture. He moves in and runs the hotel for a while before it comes apart, and when it does, the men he hired turn on him. He informs on them in return, goes into witness protection, and they are never caught.

Which is why Jack has been a secret ever since, and not from the police. He is hiding from two men who know exactly what he looks like, and who are both on Zero State. He is coming back under a new name.
