I am GarlicHeadJoe. I run two kinds of content and I take both of them seriously: ARK survival, and GTA roleplay.
ARK came first. A group of friends picked up ARK: Survival Evolved together about five years ago, everyone else drifted off, and I stayed and kept learning. Roughly 5,000 hours later, the tutorials, mod reviews and map reviews built out of all that trial and error are still the backbone of the channel.
ARK today is the cluster. Ragnarok, Svartalfheim and Nyrandil, breeding programs that get well past the point of sense, cave runs that nearly end me, and building projects nobody asked for. I film what actually happens, including the parts that go badly, because that is the half people recognize from their own save. Cluster access for Patreon members is coming, so it will not stay something you only watch.
Roleplay is the other half, and it has been running long enough that the characters have histories instead of gimmicks. The thing I care about most there is keeping the story going. Wade writes a warning instead of a ticket because a warning means the other person walks away with somewhere to be, and two characters who can meet again. Jet runs from every single police contact because that is who he is, not because running is funny once. A scene that ends in four minutes is a scene nobody gets to build on.
That is the same reason I run a server. Zero State started as somewhere to record and make stories happen, and it turned into a community. I would rather give other people room to play than be the loudest person in the room.
The best outcome of any scene is that both characters have somewhere to be tomorrow. Endings are easy. Continuations are the craft.
Every character on this channel has rules they follow even when it costs them. That consistency is what makes the payoffs land years later.
Owning a server is mostly about giving other people space to play. The community is the product, the videos are the record of it.
