Wade Belson is the law enforcement character. Whenever a shift calls for a cop, whichever department it happens to be that day, it is Wade.
He is in his thirties, red headed, and the most even tempered person in most rooms he walks into. He treats everyone with respect, including people who have very clearly just done something, and he does not get louder when a situation gets worse.
His signature is leniency. Given any room to do it, Wade writes a warning instead of a ticket, and he will look for a reason to justify one. In character he blames the paperwork, which he claims to be desperately allergic to. The real reason is simpler: a warning keeps the story going. The other person walks away with their character intact and somewhere to be, and two people who can meet again. A quick arrest over something small ends all of that in four minutes.
So he treats a stop as a question rather than a verdict. He listens, works out what the other person is playing, and picks the outcome that keeps them moving. None of that is softness. When something serious happens, Wade handles it completely and calmly, and it carries weight precisely because he almost never has to.
State Police is the preference, for the wider jurisdiction. BCSO and Game Warden are in rotation, and LSPD is the last choice. The uniform changes, Wade does not. Most of the time there is somebody riding along with him, usually Boochacha or IanGoesCiv, which is how the character is most often played.
